Within the scope of the “Disaster-Ready University” initiatives, the “Disaster Awareness Training” was organized by the Bartın Provincial Disaster and Emergency Directorate to contribute to raising individuals who are conscious of and prepared for disasters. The training was held on March 3, 2026, at the Conference Hall of the Library Building with the participation of students and staff of our faculty.

The training, delivered by personnel of the Bartın Provincial Disaster and Emergency Directorate, provided participants with comprehensive information on individual preparedness for disasters and emergencies, precautions to be taken before a disaster, appropriate behavior during a disaster, and necessary actions after a disaster. The importance of increasing social awareness and consciousness regarding disasters was also emphasized.

The program, which was followed with great interest by participants, highlighted the vital importance of making accurate and timely decisions in disaster situations. It was also noted that raising students as disaster-aware individuals would significantly contribute to societal resilience. Certificates of participation were awarded to the students and staff who attended the training.

At the end of the program, appreciation was extended to the personnel of the Bartın Provincial Disaster and Emergency Directorate who contributed to the training, and a certificate of appreciation was presented by Prof. Dr. Handan Ucun Özel, Dean of our Faculty. The event was successfully completed, contributing to increased disaster awareness and the development of correct behavioral skills among participants.
